Kurt T. Theiler

DOVER – Kurt T. Theiler, 65, passed peacefully and gently into the presence of Jesus after a brief illness at 5:26 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024 at UPMC Memorial.  He was the loving husband of Christy F. (Forester) Theiler.  The couple celebrated 32 years of marriage on January 11, 2024.

Born February 7, 1959 in Lafayette, IN, he was a son of Sally M. (Winker) Theiler of Fuquay-Varina, NC and the late Thomas C. Theiler.

Kurt earned his MBA from Wake Forest University.

Kurt was a mechanical engineer and retired in 2022.  He was a member of Flambeau Hilton Hunting Camp in Wisconsin.  Kurt enjoyed hiking and one of his proudest accomplishments was hiking the entire Appalachian Trail from February through August of 2022.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and remote control airplanes.  Kurt was also an avid carpenter, having built numerous pieces of furniture.

In addition to his wife and mother, Kurt is survived by a son, Christopher Theiler of Nashville, TN; a granddaughter, Lucy; and five siblings, Greg Theiler and wife, Lynda of Wyoming, OH, Theresa Morton and husband, Michael of Scottsdale, AZ, Michelle Meadows and husband, Eric of Windsor, NC, Rick Theiler and wife, Debbie of Ponte Vedra, FL and Matt Theiler and wife, Lori of Pinehurst, NC.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Kurt’s memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at North York Gospel Chapel, 2854 Lewisberry Rd., York.  Officiating will be Tom Irwin.  Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North York Gospel Chapel, 2854 Lewisberry Rd., York, PA 17404.
