DOVER – Margaret "Peg" Behnke Farrell, born in 1939, grew up in South Jersey and graduated from Linden Hall Academy in Lititz, PA.  She graduated from Douglass College and Syracuse University grad school in Art.  She taught Art in Riverhead, Long Island, Moses Dewitt in New York and York Catholic High School from 1978 to 1984.

Peg was married to Vincent J. Farrell for more than 63 years.  They have three sons: Timothy, Vincent(Dawn) and his two children, Erin (Adam) and Evan, and Steven and his two children, Kathleen and Grant.

Peg was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Church for many years, being involved in numerous areas of service.  She wrote beautiful letters as friendly communication or "In Sympathy" - beautiful as to what she wrote, in addition to her penmanship.  Peg enjoyed skiing for 35 years and began snowboarding at the age of 50 and stuck with it, affectionately known as "Gramashred".  She also enjoyed golfing with her friends.  Peg particularly enjoyed being at the ocean - sitting on the beach watching the waves and keeping track of her husband as he was surf fishing.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima, 950 W. Market St., York. The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen, St., Dover.  Officiating will be Father Dominic Azagbor, OP.  Following cremation, the Rite of Committal will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 in Holy Savior Cemetery, 3420 N. Susquehanna Trail, York.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Rose of Lima, 950 W. Market St., York, PA 17401; or the Women’s Care Center, 40 S. Richland Ave., York, PA 17404, would be thoughtful.
