Betty J. Faulkenberry

DILLSBURG, PA –Betty J. Faulkenberry, 87, entered into rest on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Rest Haven in York, PA.

Born December 12,1936 in Elizabethton, TN, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Birdie (Cable) Holloway.

Betty was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristen Baligush and sister, Bonnie Perry.

Betty graduated from County High school in Elizabethton Tenn. in 1956. She enlisted in the Marine Corps from 1956 to 1957 where she received an administrative discharge due to her marriage to her first husband.  After being a homemaker for 15 years she pursued higher education. She graduated from Allegany Community College in 1975 with an Associates degree in Mental Health Technology. She then graduated from Hahneman University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Allied Health Professions. She had a distinguished career working with adults with developmental disabilities.

She was a lifelong student and loved to learn. She was very spiritual and studied varied paths of beliefs. She was a person of steadfast faith. She loved nature and loved going to state and national parks.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid coin collector and supporter of local artists. She loved her hats!

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy L. Lewis and Constance L. Lawn, both of Dover, PA; five grandchildren, Amanda Good (Kevin), Lisa Lewis, Ryan Lawn (Mendi), Kaitlyn Baligush, Jessica Hunt (Will); seven great grandchildren, Allison, Karma, Emily, Lilyanna, Alaina, Layla and Kai; a brother, Boyd Holloway, Hickory, NC; two sisters, Sarah Holloway and Nettie Forbes, also of Hickory, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, PA.

Burial Services will be private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chesterwye Center, 110 Chesterwye Lane, Grasonville, MD 21638.
