Donald L. Headings

DOVER – Donald L. Headings, 85, entered into rest at 10:44 p.m. on October 13, 2026 at WellSpan York Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Connie R. (Livingston) Headings. The couple shared 54 years of marriage.

Born December 7, 1940, Donald was the son of the late Harold F. and Hazel L. (Reed) Headings.

He graduated from William Penn High School in 1959 and worked for York-Gregg Elevator Co. in York and later at Dover Elevator.

Donald was a member of First Presbyterian Church in York, Harrisburg Local 59 Elevator Union, the Twelfth Ward Independent Democratic Club, and the Penn State Nittany Lion Club. He was a devoted Penn State sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the Nittany Lions. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed playing darts, hunting, and spending time at the cabin, where he could relax and enjoy the outdoors. He is survived by his daughter, Lori J. Massimore of York; granddaughter, Marissa E. Massimore of Coatesville; and great granddaughter, Carter Rose Massimore.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcella J. Cooper.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Donald's graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, York with Ellen Good officiating.  The procession will form at 10:15 a.m. at the cemetery entrance.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
