Freda M. Benedict

YORK – Freda M. Benedict, 75, entered into rest Monday, July 30, 2018 at York Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Edward H. Benedict, who died April 10, 2018.  They were married 55 years.

Born January 19, 1943 in Admire, Freda was a daughter of the late Melvin F. and Dorothy E. (Bievenour) Bly.

She graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1961.  Freda was employed by Bernstein's and Jason's Sewing Factories, as well as Mercury Electronics.  She enjoyed making quilts, embroidering and flower gardening.

Freda is survived by two sisters, Margaret A. Klinedinst of Thomasville and Nellie A. Kann and husband, George of York, and a brother, Franklin D. Bly and wife, Linda of Thomasville.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly A. Benedict; two sons, Edward H. Benedict II and Jeffrey A. Benedict; and two brothers, Daniel E. Bly and James F. Bly.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Freda's funeral at 2:30 p.m. and the viewing from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Quickel Cemetery.  Officiating will be Pastor David Gable.
