Gale S. Gemmill

YORK – Gale Suzanne Gemmill, 73, entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 within the peaceful comforts of her home.

She was born September 24, 1945 in Schellsburg, a daughter of the late Jesse Delbert Miller Sr. and Betty McCreary-Miller, and step-daughter of the late Bonnie Clark-Miller.

Gale was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University.  She had 10 years of service for Pfaltzgraff and retired following 13 years of service as a supply technician for the federal government.

Gale was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, York.  She loved cooking, gardening and, above all, spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed camping and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

Gale is survived by two sons, Scott A. Gemmill of Jacksonville, FL and Shawn A. Gemmill of York ; five grandchildren, Alexis N. Bentz, Elizabeth G. Gemmill, Megan A Kochenour, Aaron C. Gemmill, and Keira L. Gemmill; a sister, Darlene Hillegas of Lancaster County; her former husband, Gary R. Gemmill of Shrewsbury, and a step-brother, Randy Clark of Shrewsbury.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse D. Miller Jr., Dennis L. Miller and Roy Miller, along with her step-brother, Terry Clark.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gale's funeral at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 and the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.  Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Benjamin S. Erzkus.
