Glenn E. Gettys DOVER – Our beloved Glenn E. Gettys, 86, passed away January 28, 2022 at home. Born September 22, 1935, he was a son of the late Harold and Margaret Gettys. He is survived by the love of his life, Linda M. Gettys.  They were married 44 years.  Glenn is also survived by his son, Frank Gettys (Maggie) of Dover; step-sons Craig Stepler (Monica) of Arendtsville and Douglas Stepler (Amanda) of Chambersburg; three grandsons; three great great granddaughters; brother, Barry Gettys (Joyce); and sister, Deloris Crone. He was preceded in death by his son, David Gettys and step-daughters, Pamela Stepler and Peggy Johns. Glenn attended Dover School District and received his GED certificate in his forties.  He was employed 25 years at Medusa Cement, York and 26 years at Health South, York. Glenn played and loved soccer, ice hockey, basketball, baseball and golf.  He loved his garden and sharing "goodies" with everyone.  He loved to dance, play cards and drink beer.  Glenn was a kind, gentle person who loved his family deeply and always turned the other cheek.  He loved animals, especially his beloved pets – his doggy, Gabriella and feline, Oscar. Glenn requested to be cremated.  In lieu of a service, it was his desire for family and close friends to gather for a private celebration of life at the convenience of the family.  Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is in charge of the arrangements.
