John J. Pessognelli

MANCHESTER – John J. Pessognelli, 78, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home.

Born October 8, 1940 in Nanty Glo, PA, he was a son of the late Bert and Catherine (Dino) Pessognelli.

John worked as a machine operator for Caterpillar.

He was a member of Red Land Senior Center, Yorktown Senior Center and Manchester Lions Club. John enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by three children, Steven Pessognelli of Baltimore, MD, Jo Christine Neiman and husband, Ray Neiman, Jr. of York and Andrea Kerr of Duncannon; three grandchildren, Samantha Pessognelli, Logan and Dakota Neiman; a brother, Louie Pessognelli of York and Theresa Restifo of California.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony Pessognelli, Maurice Pessognelli and Jim Pessognelli; a sister, Rosie Billett; and a half-sister, Angela Welsco.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's graveside service at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd., York.  The funeral procession will form at the entrance of the cemetery.  Officiating will be the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore, pastor of Dover Bethany U.M. Church in Dover.  Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving his family.
