Noreen E. Gross

DOVER – Noreen E. (Walters) Gross, 91 of Dover passed away, Monday, August 31, 2026, at Amarosa assisted living in York, PA.  She was the wife of the late Wayne L. Gross who died on November 6, 2010.

Noreen was born on February 18, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Herman and Ruth (Naylor) Walters.

She graduated in 1953 from William Penn Senior High School in York, PA.  Noreen had a lifelong love of sports, with ice hockey being her favorite, followed by baseball and football.  She was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers.  She also enjoyed doing puzzle books, watching game shows, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family was very important to Noreen, and some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people she loved.  She leaves behind many wonderful memories that her family will cherish forever.  Noreen will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.

Noreen is survived by her sons, Scott W. Gross and his wife, Dayna and Timothy L. Gross and his wife, Robyn; four granddaughters; one great grandson; and two great granddaughters.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Clair Walters.

Her graveside service will begin at 9:00 AM, Friday, September 4, 2026, at Salem Union Cemetery, Dover, PA.  Officiating at her service will be Reverend Steven Livermore.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
