Ralph E. Fetrow

YORK – Ralph E. "Sock" Fetrow, 87, entered into rest at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Memorial Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Barbara E.J. (Boeckel) Fetrow.  The couple celebrated 65 years of marriage on September 12, 2018.

Born February 27, 1931 in Conewago Township, he was a son of the late Harvey E. and Hattie M. (Miller) Fetrow.

Ralph was a graduate of North York High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He farmed for most of his life and owned a dairy farm with his brother, Howard.

Ralph was a member of Quickel Lutheran Church and Shiloh American Legion Post 791. He also played the clarinet for the Zions View Band and was an avid Penn State Football fan.

In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by two daughters, Donna J. Mummert and husband, Greg of Dover and Kathy S. Emswiler and husband, Jim of Mount Wolf; three sons, Lynn E. Fetrow and his dog, Stone of Dover, Michael H. Fetrow and wife, Joyce of Michigan and Charles A. Bingham and girlfriend, Amanda of York; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren with one on the way; and his beloved dog, Tucker.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Fetrow and sisters, Gladys Bahn and Pauline Krone.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ralph's funeral at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Quickel Cemetery where veteran's honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Grace U.C.C. in Hanover.
