Obituary

Roberta M. "Dee" Schroll DOVER – Roberta M. "Dee" (Wiseman) Schroll, 58, passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.  She was the loving wife of the late Anthony J. "Tony" Schroll who passed away on January 18, 2022.  They were married for over 15 years. Born December 12, 1963 in Camp Lejeune, NC, Dee was a daughter of the late Lt. Col. David L. Wiseman, USMC and Dee Suzanne (Holloway) McKendrick. She graduated from William Penn High School in 1981 and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Shippensburg University in 1985. After working for many years at Harley Davidson in York, PA, Dee was diagnosed with unexplainable heart failure, forcing her to retire and begin living with her disability as a stay-at-home mother. It was during this time that Dee was able to fully devote herself to her family and her arts and crafts. Even through the most difficult of seasons, Dee expressed her love through her art, her singing, and her humor. In July of 2016, Dee received a heart transplant at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, surviving a day-long surgery and months of recovery. A lover of animals, Dee surrounded herself with pets, most recently rescuing two Ragdoll cats, Kiki and Bebop. She passed away having been sober for over thirty years. She is survived by her beloved son, Elliott Petrilla; two step-daughters, Natasha Schroll and Kimber Apgar and husband, Nathanial; three step-grandchildren, Rylee, Lincoln, and Lucas; a sister, Terri Zimmermann and husband, Curt; niece, Suzanne Armstrong and husband, Chris; nephews, Tyler Zimmermann, Riley Zimmermann and wife, Emily and Austin Zimmermann; great niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Timothy Armstrong; mother-in-law, Gwendoyln Lau and husband, William; father-in-law, Lynton Schroll; sister-in-law, Melissa Messinger and husband, David; and three nephews, Cory Schroll, Steven Pittinger and Jared Schroll.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Brenda Mulkey. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a service to celebrate Dee's life at 3 p.m. and the visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 North Queen Street, Dover.
