Stanley A. May YORK - Stanley A. May, 87, died Wednesday, January 26, at Normandie Ridge senior living community. He was the husband of the late Gloria M. (Fulton, Crone) May. Born March 19, 1934, in Mt. Wolf, Stan was the son of the late Alfred and Nora (Reel) May. Stan was a longtime employee of Bowen & McLaughlin York (BMY), now part of BAE Systems, in West Manchester Township. He served for many years as a volunteer firefighter and fire police officer, first with Strinestown Community Fire Co. and later with Union Fire and Hose Company #1 in Dover and the Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking and watching sports, including NASCAR racing, Little League baseball, college softball and Penn State football. Stan is survived by his stepdaughter, Patricia Myers, and her husband Randy, of Dover; his stepson, David Crone, and his wife Stacy, of Dover; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, John Crone III, and sister, Shirley K. Siegel. A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make donations in Stan's name to Union Fire and Hose Co. #1 or Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department.
