Tressie P. Murray
Tressie (Bolton) Murray, 97, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:47 p.m. at York Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph E. Murray, Sr. Tressie was born August 3, 1921 to the late Tressie (Anderson) Fink. Tressie was raised by her grandmother and grandfather, Caroline and Abraham Anderson, whom she deeply loved and cherished. Tressie resided for the last five years in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Steve Snyder.
Tressie was a homemaker and was kept busy raising six children. Later in life, she enjoyed her one and only plane ride, boat rides on the Susquehanna, a horse & buggy ride, occasional trips to a casino and long scenic car rides throughout York County. Known as "Toots" to family and friends, she always had a smile on her face and found the good in everyone. She never put herself first and always worried about everyone. Throughout her life, she displayed unsurpassed commitment to her husband and children. For the last two years Tressie suffered with sever dementia and was unable to recognize family members and friends by name, but always remembered her Grandma and wondered how she was doing.
Tressie is survived by six children, Ralph E. Murray, Jr. and wife, Linda, Hugh C. Murray and wife, Brenda, Elizabeth Torres and husband, Jesus, Joyce Salazar and husband, Richard and David Murray and wife, Tracey; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later time. In Tressie's memory, do something nice for someone and tell them "Tressie told me to do this for you".
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the thirteen days of outstanding, compassionate care given by the nursing team on North Tower Section "D" at York Hospital.
Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving Tressie's family.
