Alice Mae Snelbaker

YORK – Alice Mae (Thompson) Snelbaker, 84, of York, passed away, Thursday, September 12, 2024, at her home in York.  She was the wife of the late Gerald L. Snelbaker who passed away January 26, 2013.

Mrs. Snelbaker was born March 7, 1940, in York and was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Weigard) Thompson.

She graduated in 1958 from Dover Senior High School in Dover.  She was employed as an Insurance Agent for Gentzler and Smith Insurance in York.  She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Dover.

Mrs. Snelbaker is survived by her daughter, Jill Fuhrman and her husband Warren of New Oxford, PA; her sons, Tracy Snelbaker and his wife Annette of York, and Todd Snelbaker and his wife Marlo of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren, and her sister, Kay Sunday of MO.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Thompson.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Salem United Church of Christ, 2705 West Canal Road, Dover, PA.  Her visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday at the church.  Her burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover, PA following her service. Officiating at the service will be her pastors, Reverend Don Clark and Reverend Gary Stefanski.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
