Alvena R. Border
WELLSVILLE – Alvena R. Border, 85, entered into rest at 7:53 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Border.
Born January 21, 1941 in Mount Holly Springs, Alvena was a daughter of the late Elmerta (Campbell) Gottshall.
She worked for BMY, later BAE Systems for 17 years where she was a shop coordinator.
Alvena enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two children, Robert E. Border, Jr. of Darlington and Tammy Myers of Etters; four grandchildren, Nicole Baer, Shane Miller, Heather Wagoner and Christopher Border; and three great grandchildren, Anthony Thompson, Silas Thompson and Nolan Miller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Alvena’s funeral at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Tri-County Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be family friend, Dr. Jimmy Morris.
