B. Wayne Stambaugh

DOVER – B. Wayne Stambaugh, 90, entered into rest at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.  He was the loving husband of E. Jane (Altland) Stambaugh.  The couple celebrated 63 years of marriage on June 2, 2025.

Born December 3, 1935 in Abbottstown, he was a son of the late Ellis H. and Nellie G. (Kopman) Stambaugh.

Wayne graduated from East Berlin High School in 1953 and was a U.S. Army veteran.  He had 45 years of service for Susquehanna Broadcasting.

Wayne was a member and past president of Weigelstown Lions Club and the East Berlin High School Alumni Association.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by a daughter, Karen Ann Gilbert and husband, Steven of Wrightsville; a grandson, Jeremy Gilbert; a brother, William Stambaugh and wife, Karen of New Oxford; a sister, Nancy Walter and husband, Claude of Texas; a sister-in-law, Sherry Stambaugh of Abbottstown; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathryn Strickler; and brother, Gordon Stambaugh.

Following cremation, services will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
