Barbara E.J. Fetrow
YORK – Barbara E.J. (Boeckel) Fetrow, 90, entered into rest at 8:34 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at WellSpan York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ralph E. “Sock” Fetrow. They were married 66 years.
Born November 7, 1934 in York, she was a daughter of the late Clyde A. and Grace P. (Lehr) Boeckel.
Barbara was a homemaker who was also a cake decorator for Jay’s, Spangler’s, Shur-Fine and, most recently, Whitecomb’s, where she had almost 20 years of service.
She had been a member of Quickel Lutheran Church and enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her garden and flowers, as well as watching the birds.
Barbara is survived by two daughters, Donna J. Mummert and husband, Greg of Dover and Kathy S. Emswiler and husband, Jim of Mount Wolf; three sons, Lynn E. Fetrow of Dover, Michael H. Fetrow and wife, Joyce of Michigan and Charles A. Bingham of York; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Barbara’s funeral at 3 p.m. and the viewing from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Quickel Cemetery. Officiating will be the Reverend Lisa A. Hair of St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church in York New Salem.
