Barbara M. McCurdy

DOVER – Barbara M. “Mammy” McCurdy, 79, entered into rest peacefully at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at her home with family by her side.  She was the wife of the late Larry E. McCurdy.

Born February 28, 1946 in Mechanicsburg, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Alberta M. (Burns) Knaub, Sr.

Barbara retired from Dover Area School District and previously worked for Danskin.  She was a member of Arnolds U.M. Church in Dillsburg.  Barbara was an avid BINGO and card club player.  She also loved cooking and baking for her family.

Barbara is survived by three children, Lisa M. Henning and husband, Chuck and Lori M. Bowman and husband Derek, all of Dover and Randy E. McCurdy and wife, Deborah of York; six grandchildren, Dessie, Brittany, Tyler, Meghan, Brady and Brooke; five great grandchildren, Willow, Carver, Carmon, Jaxson and Cove, with two more expected in 2026; a brother, John E. Knaub of Etters; two sisters, Christine A. Williams of Chambersburg and Tina M. Miller of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow W. Knaub, Jr. and a sister, Constance L. Freet.

Barbara’s wishes were cremation without any services.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
