Barbara A. Trone

DOVER – Barbara A. (Geubtner) Trone, 86, entered into rest Saturday morning, April 30, 2022 at her home.  She was the wife of the late John E. Trone, Sr.  They were married 60 years.

Born December 22, 1935 in York, Barbara was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mann) Geubtner.

She graduated in 1953 from York Catholic High School and worked as a bookkeeper for The Bon-Ton Corporate Office in York.

Barbara was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in York where she assisted with the Annual Christmas Drive; The Red Hat Society; and the West York VFW Post 8951 Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a former member of the Federation of Flemish Giant Rabbit Breeders Association; Eastern States Rabbit Breeders; and York County Rabbit & Cavy Club.  She was an avid baker who was known for her pies and always made sure her loved ones had their “favorite”.

Barbara is survived by four children, Michael K. Trone and wife, Leah of Newport, Linda S. Brown and husband, Louis of Nazareth, Nancy A. Ahrens and husband, Robert of Dover and John E. Trone, Jr. and wife, Donna of York; six grandchildren, James Inners and fiancé Jennifer Moritz, Alexander Brown and wife, Kristin, Amanda Brown, Marissa Trone and fiancée, Daniel DiBari, Cody Serucsak, and Seth Ahrens; a great granddaughter, Brianna Fuller; and a sister, Roseann Kendig of Lancaster.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary “Connie” Bode and Delores Armstrong; and brother, Joseph Geubtner.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Barbara’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York.  Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery.  Officiating will be the Rev. Patricia Snyder, visitation pastor of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving her family.
