Barry M. Crone
DOVER – Barry M. “Gasser” Crone, 70, entered into rest Thursday morning, September 4, 2025 at his home.
Born January 2, 1955 in York, Barry was a son of the late Robert and Arvilla (Cooper) Crone, Sr.
He worked as a fabricator for Flinchbaugh’s and previously, as an appliance deliveryman for Mailman’s. He mowed lawns following his retirement.
Gasser enjoyed dirt track racing and had been a mechanic for multiple late model race cars. He also was a fan of NASCAR. In his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling. Gasser could frequently be found “hanging out” at Hake’s Grocery Store.
Barry is survived by two sisters, Shirley Beam and Rose Yingling, both of Dover; a brother, Tim Crone of East Berlin; numerous nieces and nephews, including his niece and caregiver, Michelle Hornbeck; and his beloved cats. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Crone, Jr.; and sister, Ilene Nebinger.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Barry’s funeral at 3:30 p.m. and the viewing from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will take place privately in Dover Bethany Cemetery following cremation. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Christ U.C.C. in Jefferson.
