YORK – Barry L. Goodling, 79, entered into rest at 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at his home.  He was the loving husband of Linda M. (Moose) Goodling.  The couple celebrated 49 years of marriage on February 3, 2022.

Born February 2, 1943 in Seven Valleys, he was a son of the late Philip and Helen (Beck) Goodling.  Barry graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1961.

He retired from Winter Engine Generator where he worked on the road in mechanical maintenance.  Following retirement, he worked part-time for Briarwood Golf Course.

Barry attended Christ’s American Baptist Church in Spring Grove.  He was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed dirt-track racing, especially super late models.  Barry loved spending time with his wife and traveling with her.

In addition to his wife, Barry is survived by a son, Blake; two brothers, Eugene “Gene” Goodling and wife, Doris and Robert “Bobby” Goodling and wife, Pat; a baby sister, LouAnn Hoffman and husband, Larry; a sister-in-law, Sandra Shue; and several nephews and nieces.
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Barry’s funeral at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  There will be viewings from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.  Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Joshua Trojak.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County Racing Club, 568 Yale St., York, PA 17403; or to his church, Christ’s American Baptist Church, 730 Menges Mills Rd., Spring Grove, PA 17362.
