Betty R. Nelson
DOVER – Betty R. Nelson, 84, entered into rest at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at her home.
Born April 8, 1938 in Mill Creek, WV, she was a daughter of the late Clifford E. and Viola (Arbogast) Shreve.
Betty retired following 25 years of service for United Defense Industries, formerly BMY. She enjoyed shopping and collecting Longaberger Baskets.
Betty is survived by her grandson, Jarod Garner of Fleetwood; a sister, Margaret Webster of Dover; two brothers, Strader Shreve of Florida and David Shreve of Dover; a half-brother, Roger Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Janet L. Nelson and David R. Nelson, Jr.; four sisters, Shirley Lohr, Mary Thierfelder, Wanda Moran and Dorthy Shreve; and a brother, Delno Franklin “Pete” Shreve.
Services for Betty will be private. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. in Dover is serving her family.
