Betty M. Rentzel
GARDNERS – Betty M. Rentzel, 100, entered into rest at 6:33 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her daughter’s home. She was the wife of the late Ralph E. Rentzel.
Born January 26, 1925 in Jackson Township, Betty was a daughter of the late Harry J. Hoffman and Erma (Elicker) Hoffman Shue.
She graduated from West York High School in 1942 and worked as a seamstress for Cole-Brook Terry, formerly Bernstein’s in York.
Betty was a member of Toland Mission Church in Gardners and former member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two children, Trudy A. Latshaw of Dover and Terry E. Rentzel of Gardners; grandson, Scott A. Latshaw of Dover; step granddaughter, Lauren Barb; and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by step grandson, Michael Latshaw; three sisters, Sylvia Miller, Romaine Zeigler and Janet Rentzel; step brother, John Shue; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Betty’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Dover Union Cemetery, Dover. Officiating will be Pastor Roy Frampton of Toland Mission Church.
