Branton G. Gracey, Jr.
DOVER – Branton George Gracey, Jr., 79, entered into rest Thursday morning, June 18, 2026 at his home. He was the loving husband of Linda L. (King) Gracey. The couple would have observed their 60th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2026.
Born February 9, 1947 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Branton G. Gracey Sr. and Rose E. (Sipe) Gracey.
Branton graduated in 1965 from West York High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had 37 years of service for BAE Systems where he was a precision inspector. Following an early retirement, he drove the Lebanon/York shuttle bus to and from the V.A. Hospital.
Branton was a lifetime member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791; VFW Post 556; 12th Ward “Donkey Club”; 13th Ward; and York Riflemen. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed boating, crabbing on the bay and spending time at his cottage on the Susquehanna River.
In addition to his wife, Branton is survived by three daughters, Lora Lee Gracey and Georgia Lynn Gracey, both of Dover and Belle Eyster and husband, Wayne of York; and his grandson, Nathan Dallas of York.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Branton’s graveside service at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd., York, with Mother Sarah Ingalls-Howard from Amedisys Hospice, officiating. Veteran’s honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. The funeral procession will form at the cemetery entrance at 2:15 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
