ELIZABETHTOWN – Carrie L. Smith, 86, entered into rest at 9:04 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center.  She was the loving wife of Robert L. Smith.  The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 5, 2024.

Born June 16, 1937 in Dover Township, Carrie was a daughter of the late Clayton A. and Mary C. (Wolgamuth) Dentler.

She worked for Ramcliff Supply in addition to numerous bus and limousine transportation companies over the years.

Carrie loved to work and travel.  She traveled to 32 countries, all 50 states and 12 Provinces in Canada.  Carrie was a member of AACA.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Shirley A. Dennis of Kansas, Terry G. Zinn and wife, Suzann of Lewisberry, Nancy L. Sausser of New Cumberland and Mike L. Myers of Dover; a step-son, Stephen Smith of York Springs; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean M. Smith and Fern M. Hayes, both of York.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, June and three brothers, Calvin, Charles and Ray.

Services for Carrie are private at the convenience of the family.  Burial is in Salem Union Cemetery in Dover.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
