Clair E. Frey
YORK – Clair E. Frey, 100, entered into rest at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of the late Margie P. (Zeigler) Frey with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.
Born August 1, 1920 in Windsor Park, Clair was a son of the late Harry and Mazie (Blum) Frey.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on an aircraft carrier.
Clair owned and operated Frey’s Body Shop from 1954 to 1982.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in York for over 45 years and York County Garagemen’s Association and was active with the Northeastern Senior Center.
Clair is survived by five children, Carolyn A. Wagner and husband, Randy of York, Carroll A. Frey of Baltimore, Brenda L. Frey of York, Deborah F. Klinedinst, wife of the late Dave, of York and Angela M. Lanius and husband, Kim of Felton; three grandchildren, Ross E. Klinedinst and wife, Kari, Eric P. Klinedinst and Sophie K. Lanius; two great grandchildren, Lydia Claire and Warren Klinedinst; and a sister, Gloria Fogle of York.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Clair’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 415 N. West St., York. Burial will be private in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. Officiating will be the Rev. Janyce Jorgensen. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving his family.
