Constance J. Snyder

DOVER – Constance Jean (Wertz) Snyder, 86, entered into rest on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Juel O. Snyder. They were married for 55 years.

Born October 23, 1934 in York, Constance was a daughter of the late Luther and Amanda (Strausbaugh) Wertz, Sr.

She attended York High School and was a homemaker.

Constance was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791, Etters VFW Post 537 and the Gerard Club.  She loved to play Bingo.  Constance adored children and pets. She was an understanding and caring woman who was easy to talk to. Constance got joy out of helping others.

She is survived by two sons, Scott L. Snyder and wife, Jennifer of Dover and Stephen J. Snyder and wife, Nancy of York; a grandson, Travis King; three great grandchildren, Toby, Logan and Abby; and a sister, Delores Bassett of Somerset County.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Wertz, Jr.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Constance’s graveside service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Suburban Memorial Gardens, 3875 Bull Rd., Dover. Officiating will be the Rev. Gary Smith. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc. is serving her family.
