Dale L. Forry, Sr.
DOVER – Dale L. “Redbird” Forry, Sr., 78, entered into rest at 4:33 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of Barbara J. (Scott) Forry. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 21, 2022.
Born December 15, 1943 in Lewisberry, Dale was a son of the late Kenneth L. and Florence R. (Witmer) Forry.
He attended Northern High School. Dale was a lifelong truck driver who retired from Pro Pallet two months ago and previously worked for Mid-Atlantic and The Standard Register Company. He had well over 2.8 million safe driving miles. He was also co-owner of Route 74 Restaurant in Dover.
Dale attended Dover Bethany U.M. Church in Dover and was a member of the Vigilant Social Club. He enjoyed going to casinos, attending real estate auctions, visiting Potter County and playing with his grandkids.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Susan Elicker and husband, Dave of Dover; two sons, Jim Forry and wife, Liz and Steve Forry and wife, Beth, all of Dover; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Alicia, Amber, Andrew, Matthew, Kayla and Taylor; four great grandchildren, Ronald, Abigail, Annabel and Josephyne; a sister, Faye L. Kitzmiller of Wellsville; and a brother, Terry L. Forry of Lewisberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward L. Forry, Sr.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the service to celebrate Dale’s life at 11 a.m. and the visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Dover Bethany U.M. Church, 4510 Bull Road, Dover. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving his family.
