Dale L. Hughes

DOVER – Dale L. Hughes, 87, entered into rest Saturday morning, May 3, 2025 at UPMC Memorial Hospital.  He was the loving husband of the late Betty J. (Brillhart) Hughes.  The couple shared 63 years of marriage.

Born May 8, 1937 in York, Dale was a son of the late William and Gladys (Pressel) Hughes, Jr.

Dale retired from the U.S. Army following 20 years of service and having served during the Vietnam War.  He also had 20 years of service for FCI.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Melinda S. Harbold of Dover; son, Terry D. Hughes of Dover; grandchildren, Melissa Hughes Hayo and Tanner Hughes; a great grandchild, Riley Jean Hughes; sister, Rae Jean DeShields of York; nieces, nephews and many friends.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John C. Hughes.

Following cremation, services for Dale will be private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
