DOVER - Danny R. Townsend, 57, entered into rest at 1:47 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Heidi A. (Simmons) Townsend.  

Born March 25, 1966 in York, Danny was a son of the late William and Eva M. (Walker) Townsend.

He graduated from Northern York High School in 1985 and attended ITT.  Danny was employed by BAE Systems for 17 years and was a member of the United Steelworkers.  He previously worked for Osram Sylvania. 

Danny enjoyed helping others and was full of life.  He was the ultimate prankster who enjoyed picking on everyone.  His interests were many and included astrology, racing, driving his Mustang, remote control planes, skiing, snowboarding, archery, fireworks and roller skating at Fountainblu.  Danny was the ultimate "cheer dad" to his daughter, Tori.  He also enjoyed playing the guitar with his son, Nick, and was part of the band, Fortress.   

Danny is survived by his wife, Heidi A. Townsend, daughter, Victoria E. Townsend of East Berlin and son, Nick S. Townsend of Wellsville; step-daughter, Rebecca M. Hood of Dundalk, MD; step-son, Tony A. Baker, Jr. of Plymouth, ME; six step-grandchildren; a brother, James Townsend of Pittsburgh; and a sister, Linda Pentz of Spring Grove.  He was preceded in death by sisters, Kathy Lucia and Patty Lamberson.

A time to celebrate Danny's life will be scheduled at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
