Darlene R. Hoffman
YORK – Darlene R. “Bug” Hoffman, 72, entered into rest at 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles B. Hoffman, Jr. who died September 18, 2021. They were married over 52 years.
Born September 11, 1949 in York, she was a daughter of the late Lavern R. and Margaret M. (Flickinger) Raver, Sr.
Bug assisted her husband in the operations of his garage, Hoffman’s Service Center in Dover and was a homemaker. She was an avid Penn State Football fan and enjoyed camping, talking with friends and family on the phone, watching daytime soap operas and collecting Longaberger Baskets. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Bug is survived by her son, Dustin S. Hoffman and wife, Pang, of York; daughter, Lisa M. Bland and husband, Eric, of Williamsburg, VA; two granddaughters, Mackenzie Kennedy and Larissa Chapman; and two sisters, Carolyn A. Landis, wife of the late Kenneth, of Grand Blanc, MI and Jackie M. Lang and husband, G. Roger, of York. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda L. Lane and a brother, Lavern R. Raver, Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bug’s funeral at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Melvin Matson.
