David H. Ruby, Sr.
YORK – David H. Ruby, Sr., 81, entered into rest Friday morning on December 11, 2020 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joyce (Black) Ruby to whom he was married to for 41 years.
Born April 17, 1939 in York, David was a son of the late Burt and Helen (Hauff) Ruby.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
David worked at and retired from St. Regis, Schmidt & Ault/Smurfit-Stone, and worked for various other employers over the years.
He was passionate about Golden Retrievers and was a former member of York Kennel Club. He was an avid bowler at Colony Park Lanes North, serving on multiple bowling teams throughout the years. He also enjoyed woodworking and always had a joke to tell.
David is survived by six sons, David Ruby, Jr., Timothy Ruby, Christopher Ruby, Terry Ruby, Bradley Green, Scott Green and one daughter, Lynne Sinton; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, William, Mike and Donald Ruby; and two sisters, Mary Patterson and Alice Wales. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Due to COVID-19, services for David will be held at a later date.
