David A. Sheffer

DOVER – David A. Sheffer, 65, entered into rest Friday night, January 24, 2025 at his home.  He was the loving husband of Karen A. (Haney) Sheffer.  The couple celebrated 42 years of marriage on April 23, 2024.

Born October 23, 1959 in York, David was a son of Barbara A. (Kabusk) Sheffer of York and the late Calvin F. Sheffer.

He graduated from York Vo-Tech in 1978 and worked as a printer his whole career until retirement in March 2024. David took great pride in his craftsmanship for any projects he took on. He loved his vegetable garden and taking long rides on his e-bike. 

In addition to his wife and mother, David is survived by his sons, Stephen J. Sheffer and wife, Caitlyn of York and Kevin A. Sheffer and wife, April of Dover; two grandchildren, Madison J. Sheffer and Carter S. Sheffer; and a brother, Alvin G. Sheffer of Dover.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend David’s funeral at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.  Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Christ U.C.C. in Jefferson.
