Dennis E. Bankes
MANCHESTER – Dennis E. Bankes, 63, entered into rest Friday evening, March 17, 2023 at his home. He was the loving husband of Sharon M. (Stone) Bankes. The couple celebrated 32 years of marriage on August 11, 2022.
Born February 2, 1960 in York, Dennis was a son of the late Robert H. and Ethel L. (Wagner) Bankes.
He graduated from Red Land High School in 1979 and had 33 years of service for C-P Flexible Packaging in York.
Dennis enjoyed fishing and camping. He also liked watching NASCAR and was a fan of Dale Jarrett.
In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by a daughter, Danielle Varner of Shamokin; a son, Shane Bankes and wife, Karli of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Bankes of Enola. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Susan Wentz, Richard, Jerry and William Bankes.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dennis’ funeral at 10:30 a.m. and the viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Tri-County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry. Officiating will be Pastor Lee Manuel of Cassels Community Church.
