Dennis C. Meckley

STEWARTSTOWN – Dennis C. Meckley, 76, formerly of Dover, entered into rest at 8:50 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024.  He was the loving husband of Mary M. (Benyou) Meckley. The couple celebrated 52 years of marriage on August 28, 2023.

Born September 4, 1947 in York, Dennis was a son of the late William and Matilda (Emig) Meckley.

He graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1965 and attended York College.

Dennis served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Myerstown Lions Club and more recently, Weigelstown Lions Club and he enjoyed helping the community.  Dennis had coached youth basketball and baseball and was very much involved with children’s sports.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Todd W. Meckley and wife, Jen of Stewartstown; three grandchildren, Garrett, McKenna and Mavryk; brother, Jim Meckley and wife, Debra of York; sister, Darlene Leach of Easton, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jason C. Meckley and brother, Bill Meckley.

Following cremation, services for Dennis will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
