Dolores J. DeLeon

DOVER – Dolores J. (McIntire) DeLeon, 91, entered into rest at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Country Meadows of York – West.

Born March 5, 1931 in Vandergrift, she was the daughter of the late Ray H. and Angela E. "Della" (Wysocki) McIntire.

Dolores graduated from Moravian College for Women in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology.

She later earned a teaching certificate from Millersville University and worked as a kindergarten teacher for Northeastern School District.

Dolores was a member of Shiloh Lutheran Church in York; Viking Athletic Association; and PSEA.  She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO.

Dolores is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Gowl of Sunbury and Andrea Lipscomb and husband, Marvin of Thomasville; son, Daniel DeLeon and wife, Peggy of Dover; three grandchildren, Max Gowl, Victor Gowl and Danielle DeLeon; a great granddaughter, Selma Gowl; step-family; and the Thursday night group.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandchildren, Julian Gowl and Heather DeLeon.

Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dolores’ memorial service at 3 p.m. and the visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Emig Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrel, PA at the convenience of the family.  Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Fischer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Viking Athletic Association Scholarship Fund, 318 N. Adams Street, York, PA 17404.
