Donald Lee Keener
DOVER – Donald Lee Keener, 63, entered into the arms of his loving Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday night, September 21, 2022 at his home. He was the loving husband of Kristine (Boyer) Keener. They would have been married for 34 years on October 15, 2022.
Born December 1, 1958 in York, Donald was a son of the late Elmer H. and Lolita M. (Hall) Keener, Jr.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1976 and earned an associate degree in agricultural business from Penn State University.
Donald worked as a township manager for several municipalities over the years. He attended Hope Grace Church in Dillsburg. Donald was the past president of York County Association of Townships (YCAT) and York County Republican Club. He was a member of Civil War Roundtable and enjoyed American History. Donald loved the outdoors and even started “Dover Doug” and was his interpreter for a number of years.
In addition to his wife Kristine, he is survived by his two children, Justine Lolita Keener and Hayden Grant Keener, both of Dover. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Yvonne Johnson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Donald’s funeral at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Hope Grace Church, 110 Old York Road, Dillsburg. The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Paradise Holtzschwamm Union Cemetery. Officiating will be his Pastor, George Traub, his best friend, Darryl MacPherson and brother-in-law, Pastor Jonathan Boyer. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving his family.
