Donald E. Lauer

DOVER – Donald E. Lauer, 78, entered into rest early Monday morning, November 15, 2021 at WellSpan Surgery & Rehabilitation Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Shirley R. (Sourbier) Lauer.

Born November 23, 1943 in York, Donald was a son of the late George H. and Anna Mae (Ritter) Lauer.

He graduated from York High School and worked as an electrician for Gettle and Leer Electric.

Donald loved to golf, especially at Grandview Golf Course. He was a member of Vikings Athletic Association and Heritage Senior Center. Donald also liked to visit the beach, where he enjoyed feeding the seagulls, walking the boardwalk and riding the tram.

He is survived by his son, Shannon M. Lauer of York; two sisters, Priscilla and Linda; a brother, Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

Services for Donald will be scheduled at a later date.
