DOVER – Donna J. (Liberto) Spinelli passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 at home. She was the loving wife of Anthony G. Spinelli. The couple celebrated 21 years of marriage on June 26, 2023.
She was a lover of animals from childhood until the end of her life and spent her entire career working in veterinary offices in both Maryland and York County. Donna owned and bred German Shorthaired Pointers and also owned English Cocker Spaniels. Her favorite activity was spending time at the shore with her girlfriends.
Donna was born in Baltimore to Carmello Liberto and Colleen (Claybaugh) Liberto on October 7, 1951. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe. In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her sister, Patricia “Toni” Mayr; niece, Corinne Liberto; and brother, Mark Liberto.
In accordance with Donna’s wishes, no formal funeral ceremonies will be observed. A celebration of Donna’s life will occur in the future at the family’s convenience. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VCORF/Mya’s Fund, 739 East Nields Street, West Chester, PA 19382.
The family is especially grateful for the loving care and sacrifices made by her longtime friends, Cindy Stahle, Dave and Cindy Gontz, Lynn Rhodes, Jane Lehr and Marsha Forbes. We would also like to thank the nurses and medical workers from Hospice and Community Care as well as Dr. Chip Reninger and his staff from UPMC Hillman Cancer Center for their wonderful care during Donna’s illness.
