Dr. Blair R. English

YORK – Dr. Blair R. English, 90, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his home.  He was the husband of the late Jane (Wolf) English with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.

Born January 19, 1932 in Allegheny County, Blair was a son of the late Lynn R. and Pearl E. (Springer) English.

Dr. English earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania and operated his own practice in Dover for 40 years.  He was a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dover where he served on church council and was a former council president.  Blair also served on the Dover Area School Board and was a member of Dover Lions Club.  He enjoyed produce gardening, playing bridge and was devoted to his family.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara J. English and husband, Glen Keller of Towson, MD; three sons, Donald B.K. English and wife, Ann of Rockville, MD, Mark C. English and wife, Elizabeth of Gaithersburg, MD and David A. English of Alexandria, OH; nine grandchildren, Andrew E. Keller, Sarah E. Keller, Alexander J.E. English and wife, Caroline, Charles C. English and fiancée, Katherine Sawyer, Celeste English, Blair M. English, Isabel F. English, Justin M. English and Taylor G. English; two great grandchildren, Meredith English and Arthur English; and a sister, Carol Weidmann of Suffolk, VA.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Phillippi.

Following cremation, services for Dr. English will be private at the convenience of the family.  Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving his family.
