Edward L. Forry, Sr.
LEWISBERRY – Edward L. Forry, Sr., 75, entered into rest at midnight on October 26, 2021 at UPMC Memorial. He was the loving husband of Joanne L. (Matusky) Forry. The couple celebrated 13 years of marriage on May 23, 2021. He also was the husband of the late Eileen M. (Pierce) Forry.
Born March 1, 1946 in Lewisberry, Ed was a son of the late Kenneth L. and Florence R. (Witmer) Forry.
He graduated from Northern High School in 1964 and owned and operated Edward Forry & Son Builders in Lewisberry for 48 years.
Ed was a member of New Bethel U.M. Church in Lewisberry where he had served on the Board. He was also a member of York County Builders Association. Ed enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, hiking and working. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Joanne, Ed is survived by a daughter, Tina M. Dugan and husband, Michael of Hanover; a son, Edward L. Forry, Jr. and wife, Renate of Dover; step-daughters, Laura Hull and her husband, Robert of Wilmington, DE and Julie Wilds and her husband, Stephen of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Jocelyn Forry, Travis Spahr and his wife, Amy, Trevor Spahr and Ashlyn Forry; three great grandchildren, Elijah, Ella-Rose and Teagan; a sister, Faye L. Kitzmiller of Wellsville; and two brothers, Dale L. Forry of Dover and Terry L. Forry of Lewisberry.
Following cremation, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the service to celebrate Edward’s life at 12 noon on Saturday, November 6, 2021 with a visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at New Bethel U.M. Church, 1495 Kunkles Mill Rd., Lewisberry. Burial will be private in Suburban Memorial Gardens in Dover. Officiating will be his pastors, the Rev. Sandy Kraft and the Rev. Milton Loyer. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving his family.
