Elwood N. Anderson
DOVER – Elwood N. Anderson, 92, entered into rest at 1:49 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at The Gardens at Gettysburg. He was the husband of the late Sylvia R. (Keefer) Anderson. They were married for more than 60 years.
Born April 10, 1928 in York, Elwood was a son of the late George W. and Mary (Gotwalt) Anderson.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post 791.
Elwood retired from York Wall Coverings following 48 years of service as a printer. However, his passion in life was farming, which he enjoyed doing with his brother, Raymond, and in more recent years, with his grandson, Jason.
Elwood is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Moul and her husband, Barry of Dover; two grandsons, Bradley D. Lane II and Jason W. Hoover; and his beloved dog, Rusty. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty M. Lane; a son, John N. Anderson; a brother, Raymond Anderson; four sisters, Dorothy Beck, Margaret Marsh, Helen Stambaugh and Charlotte Gohn; and a half-sister, Catherine Hawkins Anderson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Elwood’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Friendship Community Church, 3380 Fox Run Rd., Dover. Burial will follow in Rohlers Mountain View Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Logan Ames. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving his family.
