Emma L. Crone
YORK – Emma L. Crone, 96, entered into rest at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation – Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Ralph R. Crone.
Born March 4, 1926 in Northumberland, Emma was a daughter of the late Aaron H. and Clara Margarette (Lyons) McCreary.
She was a homemaker who also cleaned homes for people.
Emma was a member of Dover Bethany U.M. Church in Dover. She loved to listen to music, especially country gospel, and she loved her cats.
Emma is survived by her son, Ralph E. Crone of York; step-daughter, Barbara Simmons of York; and a sister, Doris Gonsallus of Shamokin. In addition to her husband and parents, Emma was preceded in death by a step-son, Richard Crone; eight sisters, Anna Wilson, Dorothy Johnson, Margaret “Peg” Hupp, June Byerly, Ruth Clark, Jean Trostle, Myrtle Bennet and Sarah McCreary; and her brother, Aaron McCreary.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Emma’s graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022 in Suburban Memorial Gardens, 3875 Bull Rd., Dover. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. Salvatore Buonocore. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover, is serving her family.
