Eva Mae Weir

DOVER – Eva Mae Weir, 90, entered into rest at 11:23 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Brookdale Grandon Farms in Mechanicsburg.  She was the wife of the late James D. Weir, Sr., who passed on June 21, 2025.  They were married 72 years.

Born July 4, 1935 in Liverpool, Eva Mae was a daughter of the late Dorothy Chronister.

She graduated from Mechanicsburg High School and worked as a secretary for over 25 years at Harmony Grove Community Church. Previously, Eva Mae was co-owner of Jim’s Supermarket in Wellsville with her husband.

She was a member of Harmony Grove Community Church in Dover. Eva Mae enjoyed going to auction with her husband and watching all of her grandkids.

Eva Mae is survived by seven children, Mindy Jones and husband, Keith of Sumterville, FL, James D. Weir, Jr. and wife, Debra of Dover, Jeff Weir and wife, Ann of Waxhaw, NC, Greg Weir and wife, Cindy of Wellsville, Tim Weir and wife, Sherry of East Berlin, Lisa Myers and husband, Scott of East Berlin and Mark Weir and wife, Lisa of Mount Wolf; 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and one more on the way; four sisters, Theresa Steright, Patricia King, Shirley Indictor and Jeanne DiLorenzo; and three brothers, John Weaver, Ken Weaver and Dennis Weaver.  In addition to her husband and parents, Eva Mae was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank X. “Jerry” Weaver, Jr., Thomas Weaver and Michael Weaver.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Eva Mae’s graveside service at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026 in Salem Union Cemetery, 2705 W. Canal Rd., Dover.  Officiating will be Pastor Jim Crosley.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
