Filbert N. "Phil" Crone
DOVER - The Lord called Filbert N. "Phil" Crone home on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from UPMC Memorial at the age of 77. He was the loving husband of Phyllis J. (Keister) Crone. The couple celebrated 57 years of marriage on October 19, 2020.
Born December 17, 1943 in York, he was a son of the late Bernice (Crone) Eyler and grandson of the late Lincoln and Mary Crone.
Phil had been employed by Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff. He also raised and sold Christmas trees. Phil was a member of Rohlers Assembly of God in Dover and attended Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill for the past twelve years. He enjoyed woodworking and making vintage furniture. One of Phil's proudest accomplishments was that he restored his great grandfather's and great great uncle's church, Rohler's Union Church, and continued it's upkeep over the years, in addition to the church's cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Phil is survived by his daughters, Jodie L. Farrar of Dover and Mindy J. Buss and husband, Brian Buss, Sr. of Newberrytown; five grandchildren, Heather L. Baer, Cory M. Anderson, Brittany N. Baer, Tyler D. Keith and Levi D. Buss; five great grandchildren, Makiya, Ryden, Trey, Remii and Brayson; two sisters, Sue Sipe and life partner, Charlotte Mallonee and Belinda Spangler and partner, Chuck Allison, all of York; and three brothers, Ken Eyler and wife, Grace, of Dover, Ben Eyler and Tony Eyler and wife Jessica, all of York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Eyler.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Phil's funeral at 12 noon and the viewing from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Rohlers Assembly of God, 761 Rohlers Church Rd., Dover. Burial will follow in Rohlers Mountain View Cemetery. Officiating will be Phil's cousin, the Rev. Kevin Kohler. Those in attendance are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, is serving his family.
In lieu of flowers, Phil would have wanted any memorial contributions made for the continued maintenance of Rohlers Union Church and Cemetery, to his wife, Phyllis Crone, 741 Rohlers Church Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
