Franklin K. Bobbitt
HELLAM - Franklin K. Bobbitt, 89, entered into rest on Sunday evening, June 20, 2021 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Maria (Wittmann) Bobbitt. They would have been married for 65 years on June 30, 2021.
Born November 21, 1931 in Windsor, Franklin was a son of the late Charles and Marie (Bowman) Bobbitt.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War.
He was self-employed as a painter for 17 years and had also worked for Cole Steel.
Franklin was a member of First Assembly of God in York for over 60 years where he was a member of the church board for 30 years.
In addition to his wife, Franklin is survived by two daughters, Esther Senft and husband, Terry of Dover and Elizabeth Ruth Campbell and husband, Michael of Greencastle; a son, Timothy Bobbitt and wife, Stacy of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a brother; and a sister. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ann Bobbitt and a granddaughter, Christine Noel Campbell.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Franklin’s funeral at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Redemption International Ministries (formerly First Assembly of God), 2270 North Susquehanna Trail, York. The viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St. Dover and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, York where veteran’s honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Renee Caraballo.
