Frannie M. (Hartlaub) Glatfelter

DOVER – Frannie M. Glatfelter of Dover, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at home at the age of 91.  She is survived by her husband of over 42 years, George Glatfelter, Jr.

Fran was born in Littlestown on August 5, 1933 to the late Thomas and Portia (Barnhart) Hartlaub.

She worked as a waitress for numerous area restaurants.  Fran was an avid bowler and enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing.  She was best known for her peanut butter fudge.  Fran also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.  She was a Penn State football fan and Philadelphia Phillies fan.

In addition to her husband, Fran is survived by her children: Ronald (Karen) Jacobs, Sr. of Port St. Lucie, FL, Karen (Dot Furry) Jacobs of York, Yvonne “Bonnie” Raynes of Emigsville, Terry (Drew Heininger) Lopez of Emigsville, and her step-children: Julie (Jeff) Deardorff of Dover, Debbie (Jeff) Bailey of York and Steve Glatfelter of Dover. She was also blessed with 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her sisters, Gloria Miller and Sue (Paula O’Brien) Anderson, sister-in-law, Dixi Harlaub, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends.

In addition to her parents, Fran was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Herbert, Burnell, Robert and Earl Hartlaub; her sisters, Beatrice Wolfe, Gertrude Heisey, Nadine Olewiler and Dee Morris; her son, Monty Lars Snyder; great grandson, Kasin Buchmyer; and son-in-law, Dale Raynes.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2 p.m. with a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover.  Burial will follow in Suburban Memorial Gardens, Dover.  Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Christ U.C.C. in Jefferson.
