Gerald W. Colvin

YORK – Gerald W. Colvin, 91, entered into rest at 10:39 a.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Esther L. (Beamer) Colvin and the late Dolores M. (Alwine) Hite Colvin.

Born October 8, 1931 in Lower Chanceford Township, Gerald was a son of the late Ralph B. and Mary Ruth (Wise) Colvin.

He worked as a mechanic with 25 years of service for Pitman Manufacturing and 15 years of service for Henkel & McCoy.

Gerald was a member of Aldersgate U.M. Church in York.  He enjoyed going to steam engine exhibits and tractor shows. Gerald also liked to read about military history, as well as York County and tractor history.

He is survived by his daughter, DeAnne Harkins of Lancaster; two step-daughters, Stephanie E. Russel of York and Tammy L. Harwell of Conroe, TX; a step-son, Steven A. Hite of Shiloh; two grandchildren, Wendy A. Hite and Hunter A.E. Harwell; two great grandchildren, Nathan A. Wisotzkey and Allyson H. Wisotzkey; and a brother,  Wilber R. Colvin of Windsor Township.  In addition to his wives and parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Colvin; and his sister, Helen Neeper.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gerald’s graveside service at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Bryansville U.M. Cemetery, 2325 Bryansville Rd., Delta. Officiating will be the Rev. Bonnie J. Whitter, pastor of Christ U.C.C. in Hanover.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
