Gerald E. Franklin
WRIGHTSVILLE – Gerald E. Franklin, 82, entered into rest at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sandra L. (Drawbaugh) Franklin. The couple celebrated 63 years of marriage on November 28, 2020.
Born April 13, 1939 in Friars Hill, WV, Gerald was a son of the late Clyde and Ina M. (Crane) Franklin.
He owned and operated Franklin’s Mobile Home Services for over 30 years and attended Mount Royal U.M. Church for over 50 years.
Gerald enjoyed fishing and boating and spent many years making great family memories at the river.
In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by three children, Terry L. Franklin and wife, Katrina of Dover, Teresa K. Grove and husband, Donald of Wrightsville and Julie A. Martin and husband, Jay Dohm of Dover; five grandchildren, Jason, Josh, Jess, Derek and Shawnee; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; four fur grand dogs; and a sister, Betty Schenandore of Dover. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Jamie L. Franklin; and two brothers, Robert L. and Donald G. Franklin.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Franklin’s funeral at 11 a.m. and the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in St. John’s Reformed Cemetery. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Sandra Kraft.
