Geraldine E. Anstine
YORK - Geraldine E. Anstine, daughter of the late Harvey E. Heckert and the late Margaret Gettys Heckert, passed away November 21, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Russell W. Anstine for 48 years. Geraldine worked at York Caramel Company and Black’s Hosiery. She was housekeeper for Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Heilman for 30 years. In recent years, she spent much of her time cleaning and taking care of her twin brother, the late Carl Heckert. She was also preceded in death by brother, Eugene Heckert.
Geraldine is survived by four nieces and three nephews and a very good friend, who was like a daughter, Virginia Browne.
Over the years, Geraldine, known as Jerry to many of her friends, enjoyed shopping for, and collecting antiques. Other hobbies were reading and working puzzle books. She especially enjoyed word find puzzles.
Geraldine was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ in Dover, PA. She served on the Alter Guild and was a Greeter.
Geraldine's funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Salem U.C.C., 2705 W. Canal Road, Dover with the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Julia Brown. Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover is serving her family.
